Community-Wide Crisis Simulation

Based on two seminal Centers of Disease Control and Prevention smallpox epidemic response scenarios, the PILOT team will be coordinating a community-wide crisis simulation in October 2023. Using a branching narrative format in which decisions by participants impact the outcome of the scenario, the aim of the simulation will be to expose the general public to the scientific processes that underlie intervention recommendations during infectious disease crises. To enable widespread participation, the simulation will be broadcast via Zoom in real-time, and audience polling will be used to make collective decisions at each step of the branching narrative. This event is open for registration to the general public.
